The sea has gone, the vessel changed. It transitions over new landscapes, masts becoming trees once more. This sculpture was crafted to explore the possibilities of repurposing discarded human-made objects. The sculptures, fashioned from copper, wood and rope take on the form of an insect and is sat atop a charred piece of wood. This depiction speaks to the creature’s ability to adapt to new and challenging environments. It also serves as a poignant reminder of the profound impact that current environmental changes have on the tiny creatures that are critical to our planet’s transformation.
