This is the second of a series of small paintings responding to things I see on my walks along the River Torridge quayside, Bideford. The painting was made in early January after I had visited my favourite part of Bideford quay. The river water was warmer than the frost laden air, causing a rising and greying mist, complementing the ice-covered boats and quayside.
