Peter Stiles

Peter Stiles has painted pictures in North Devon since leaving the Slade in 1980. He runs the Plough Arts Centre Gallery in Great Torrington. Recent mixed shows include A Generous Space 3, Huddersfield Art Gallery 2023 Changing Atmospheres, Hestercombe 2022, BEEP ( (biennial exhibition of painting) 2022, Swansea, Insiders and Incomers, Bobinska Brownlee 2022, Summer Open, StudioKIND 2023 , Wells Contemporary 2020, South West Academy Open 2022, Sidmouth and recent prokects include The Wild Escape working with Lynton museum and primary school - and Combe Martin museum and primary School (2023). And  varied activity with the  Footsteps of the Romantic Poets project with  SPAEDA, the Quantock Partnership and Taunton Museum (2023, 2022 and 2021) He has had numerous solo shows at venues including British Academy, London, Black Swan, Frome and Plymouth Arts Centre. Next solo show at Ruskin Mill in Stroud.
