Michelle James

I am a painter and printmaker living in Torrington after moving here from Surrey in 2022.  I am mostly a self taught artist having studied a Foundation diploma in Art & Design in 2003 and practised art since a young age. 

My passion is for wildlife, the sea and nature.  I paint and draw sometimes using printmaking techniques in my work. When drawing animals, I like to focus on the expression and the eyes.  I enjoy learning new techniques and mediums having more recently started using coloured pencils as well as pastels.  For my paintings I use mainly oils.
