Claire Coker Illustrations

Hi, my name is Claire and i live in the beautiful county of Devon. My art life began during a course of art therapy in 2012 and continued from here until gaining my degree in Illustration in 2017, from Plymouth University. I have a passion for wildlife, in particular, marine animals. I am amazed by the vast variety of species, vibrancy of colours, shapes and characters which are hidden beneath the waves. My aim is to capture the wide range of life in my illustrations and bring an awareness to these beautiful and, sometimes bizarre looking, animals. I use drawing pens to create the details in my images and i paint with inks as i feel the strength of pigment in inks mean they are able to represent the stunning array of colours these creatures have.
