Specialist ceramics gallery Thrown returns to Cornwall this summer for their Summer Show. Their converted-barn exhibition space will open its doors for the second time at Great Polgrain Farm, Caerhays. The gallery's annual Summer Show is a large mixed collection of contemporary ceramics, sculpture, tableware, paintings and prints by leading and emerging names. This year's exhibition will include a large new collection of colour-filled tableware by acclaimed South African ceramicist Clementina van der Walt alongside new painterly ceramics by New Zealand-based artist Annie Smits Sandano. New works from closer to home include our first collection of ceramics and paintings by Max Breese, a collection which bounces inspiration between the two medium, and our first collection from Tip Studio of jesmonite vessels incorporating recycled materials including Cornish foraged sand and shell. These new collections will be displayed alongside hand-picked works by a range of gallery artists as well as the first inclusion of antique and archive works in wood, marble and clay. We would love for you to join us at the farm - whether physically or virtually. The gallery will be open for the first day on Thursday 28th July, midday-6pm and will then be open each Wednesday and Thursday of the exhibition midday-6pm.
