Amy Thornley-Heard Artist (ATHA) is the art practice of mother/artist Amy Thornley-Heard.
Her pronouns are she/her and she is the mother of two children. This matrescence rite of passage began with her first pregnancy and miscarriage in 2013. Her first child’s birth in 2015 was a catalyst for inevitable identity change and her art practice seeks to explore aspects of her identities.
Amy is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation art, ceramics, collage and sometimes print and drawing.
Her main areas of interest are Matrescence, entomology, agriculture, memory and food.
